Summary
Introduction. Central Nerve Coordination Disorder is a very broad term. It hides all sorts of abnormalities that can be seen in babies. They are distinguished by the fact that they constitute a kind of deviation in the child's natural, spontaneous reflexes, motor and postural responses. There are three main groups within Central Nerve Coordination Disorder, depending on the severity of symptoms: light, medium and severe. The brain in infancy and early childhood is very plastic, it has compensation possibilities, which makes it easier to eliminate certain abnormalities. In children with OCD, it is extremely important to implement appropriate physiotherapy or rehabilitation as soon as possible.
Aim. The aim of this study is to describe, based on the subject literature, the development of an infant with central nervous coordination disorder and to present a therapy plan supporting the psychomotor development of a child.
Material and methods. The work includes a case study, pregnancy and perinatal interview, research on psychosocial development of an infant with mild central nervous coordination disorder, a treatment plan and final examinations. In my research paper, I placed photos from the family archive showing the baby in various positions. In my work, I posed the following research questions, which constitute the content of the research problem I am considering: 1. Should an infant with mild OCD be provided with therapy supporting proper psychomotor development? 2. Do motor exercises stimulate the psychomotor development of an infant in the first year of life?
The following working hypotheses are an attempt to answer the above research questions, which will be subjected to empirical verification on the basis of an analysis of the psychomotor development of a child with mild OCD: 1. an infant with mild OCD should be under the care and control of specialists, 2. proper exercises stimulate the psychomotor development of a child with mild OCD and lead to the withdrawal of central nervous coordination disorders.
Results. Early stimulation improves the child’s functioning on many levels, giving him a chance for fuller development. In many situations, it also prevents or reduces the extent of the child’s disability.
Conclusions. It becomes crucial to diagnose central nervous coordination disorders early and to start improving the psychomotor development of the child as soon as possible.
