Streszczenie
Cystic fibrosis is the commonest genetic disorder in Caucasian people depending on the mutation of a single gene. Recently, chronic and excessive inflammatory process is thought to be responsible for progressive and irreversible lung damage in the course of this disease. Different antiinflammatory drugs are used in the treatment of cystic fibrosis. In this article potential mechanisms of antiinflammatory activities of macrolides are discussed in details including their influence on inflammatory response, neutrophiles, bronchoconstriction, bacteria and mucus rheology.
