Streszczenie
In this report the authors analyse the values of saturation and heart rate in children surgically treated because of a limited patency of the upper part of the respiratory tract, before and after an operation. It is significant that in children with patency disorders of the upper part of the respiratory tract, we can observe not only decreases of saturation during sleep, but also very wide fluctuations of heart rate. After surgical treatment these values usually normalize. In patients with sleep respiratory disorders an increase in the activity of parasympathetic system occurs, alternating with an increase in the activity of the sympathetic system during every waking incidence. In the follow-up studies of surgically treated children, beside the increase in values of saturations, a significant decrease of fluctuations of heart rate during sleep was observed.
