Streszczenie
This paper reviews current knowledge and future prospects of hormonal treatment of malignant tumors, with particular attention to breast and prostate cancer. New drugs with novel mechanism of action, favorable toxicity profile and lack of cross-resistance to standard treatments are presented. Reviewed are also results of studies supporting new indications for hormonal manipulations, such as treatment of early stages of malignancy and prevention of cancer in high-risk groups.
