Stężenia pierwiastków śladowych u chorych na celiakię

Summary
The clinical picture of coeliac disease varies widely from life-threatening conditions to asymptomatic cases. The aim of our study was to determine serum levels of micronutrients in patients with coeliac disease. 7 patients on gluten-free diet and 7 celiacs on gluten-containing diet participated in the study. Serum manganese, molibdenium, chromium, zinc and copper concentrations were determined by use of inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Micronutrients levels were lower in patients refusing dietetic treatment. The results suggest the need of examination of patients´ micronutrients status.
