Summary
Anaemias represents a complex diagnostic and therapeutic challenge due to the multitude of its causes and the subsequent treatment methods. This paper presents the case of a 16-year-old female patient hospitalized in the Pediatric Ward due to anaemia. During the diagnostic process, the patient was diagnosed with trichotillomania and a gastric bezoar as the primary rare cause of her anaemia. Treatment involved the transfusion of packed red blood cells (PRBCs) and oral iron supplements. The trichobezoar was surgically removed, and upon discharge, the patient was recommended to receive care at the Mental Health Clinic.
