Neuroborelioza – opis przypadku klinicznego

Summary
A case report of a nine-years old girl, who has been healthy so far. The girl has got neurological symptoms including headache, visual disturbance and positive Kernig’s symptom. On the physical examination on admission to the Children’s Ward, the general condition was good, the Glasgow scale was 15 points. The girl reported double vision in the left eye. The pain in her head was localized in the frontal and occipital areas. It had nothing to do with the time of day or exercise. In the diagnostic process medical examinations were performed such as lumbar puncture or antibody testing against Borrelia. As a result pleocytosis with a predominance of lymphocytes and positive IgM and IgG were found. After getting the results, ceftriaxone was added to the treatment. During hospitalization, the child’s general condition improved and headache and all the reported symptoms disappeared.
