In the current issue, I recommend you an original paper on the correlation between inflammatory parameters in patients with colorectal cancer and the stage of the disease. The authors investigated CRP and WBC levels, testing of which is inexpensive and widely available. They concluded that these two parameters may provide additional support in clinical staging. Although the preliminary conclusions are interesting, the authors emphasise that a further analysis and a comprehensive approach are needed to demonstrate the actual correlation.
