Summary
The main theme of this article is the cosmetic and medicinal use of ornamental plants. Its purpose is to present to the reader the beneficial effect of ornamental plants on the skin and the human body. Here you can find information on specific ornamental plants such as Aloe vera, Lavendula angustifolia, Calendula officinalis, Sea-buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) and Rose canina, including their systematics, that is how they come from, what they look like and to which family they belong. The active substances, in which the individual parts of the plants contain the substances responsible for the cosmetic effect, are also described, and a description of the effects of these substances on the condition of the skin is provided. There are also cosmetic recipes that you can do yourself at home using specific raw materials. The article also contains information on the medicinal properties of the plant and its effects on the human body and the precautions to be taken when using the plant. This article seeks to present ornamental plants not only on the basis of their aesthetic qualities, but also on their broad spectrum of cosmetic and therapeutic activities.
