Summary
The review of the literature shows the possibility of use of manuka honey with a high contents of methylglyoxal (MGO 400+ and MGO 550+) in therapy of some gastrointestinal and respiratory tract diseases, mouth, viruses and tumor diseases, and causes also sterilization of hemodialysis catheter. The huge benefit is sensibility of pathogenic microorganisms to manuka honey. Moreover, manuka honey produces a positive interaction with many antibiotics because of the synergistic effect against microorganisms.
