Ocena żywienia dzieci pozostających na diecie laktoowowegetariańskiej w przedszkolu

Summary
Introduction. The percentage of children fed according to the principles of vegetarianism is low, however in 2013 this diet has been accepted by the Polish Ministry of Health, as accessible to the health of children under condition of properly balancing.
Aim. The aim of the studies was to compare kindergarten lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet with nutritional recommendations.
Material and methods. The menus prepared in one of Koszalin kindergarten, caring for children nourished according to the principles of vegetarianism were analyzed. The calculations were based on program Alliant.
Results. Studies shown that lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet realized the demand for energy at 99%. The intake of protein covered 116%, fat 96.06% and carbohydrate 113% of recommendation. Among the vitamins and minerals below the standard was intake of vitamin D (18%), B12 (89%) and iron (80%).
Conclusions. Lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet in the kindergarten reduces the risk of nutrient deficiencies in comparison to other vegetarian diets.
