Summary
Atopic dermatitis is the most frequent inflammatory chronic disease in children. Frequency of this disease is between 2% in developing countries to 20% in Western Europe, North America, Australia. Polish recent data are showing that 4,7% of children 3-18 years old and 1,4% adults are having this problem. Taking this into consideration it is of great importance that all medical doctors and nurses must be aware of such a disease. The research was conducted among students of Medical Faculty and Nurses Faculty. In the survey they were asked about the topic problems connected to atopic dermatitis. All respondents had basic knowledge, but students of Nurse faculty should improve their competence concerning diagnostic criteria and disease risk factors. Both groups need more information about etiology of infections in patients with skin atopy
