Summary
The activity to 10 liquids used to e-cigarettes (Liqueen) contain nicotine – 11 mg/ml and aromatic substances against 6 strains of anaerobes isolated from patients with infections of oral cavity and 2 reference strains were tested. The bactericidal activity (MBC) was determined by the broth-dilution method in thioglycolate broth with inoculums 106 CFU per ml. Incubation was performed at 37°C for 48 hours. The MBC was defined of the concentration of the liquid, need to kill the tested strains of anaerobic bacteria. The results indicated that all tested liquids were without of the microorganisms. From among 10 tested liquids, 6 demonstrated bactericidal activity against all tested anaerobic bacteria. The 3 tested liquids were bactericidal against 5 or 4 strains of anaerobes. After 10 or 15 min bactericidal activity on the strains belonging to the genus of Fusobacterium nucleatum demonstrated 5 liquids, and to the strains from the genus of Prevotella intermedia 4 liquids.
