Summary
Securing airway patency is one of the basic skills they should have a person with a medical professional. Execution airway is extremely important because the body’s oxygen reserves are sufficient only for 3-5 minutes. Whether this treatment rescuer delivers the manually by a front jaw or maneuvers, the maneuver Esmarch or using advanced intubation methods – a clear airway is important due to the flow of air into the lungs and arterial blood oxygenation. Today, due to the development of medicine airway access management is not limited to securing the airway through a oropharyngeal tube or tracheal intubation. There are many medical devices to supraglottic airway management, which may benefit after a short training even people with no medical education. Examples of such devices may be laryngeal mask, laryngeal tube or Combitube. All these devices are placed blindly and secure airway, and thus isolate the respiratory system against the possibility of aspiration of gastric contents. The purpose of this article is to introduce the reader some methods for airway control in the case of a pediatric patient. The methods are both routinely used in the practice of emergency medical teams away as well as firefighters practice.
