Summary
The authors present a case of a patient with gastroduodenal obstruction caused by an advanced malignancy of pancreatic origin. Due to an overall poor health of the patient the authors withdrew from surgical means of palliative treatment in favor of endoscopic duodenal self-expandable metal stent placement. The procedure was performed with excellent result. The patient was able to resume oral intake and continued to do so until his demise.
The authors wish to stress and underline the appropriateness of this approach in such cases.
