Summary
For the 15 years we have noticed the dicrease in the mortality rate in patients with cardiovascular diseases. This positive change is connected with the development of invasive cardiology, cardiosurgery as well as due to intensification of primary and secundary prevcention. The author of the article shows the changes occuring in accute cardiovascular syndrom in the years 1996 – 2001. It was a significant period in the development of Cardiological Ward / including the Emergency Ward, training of the medical personnel, changing the Internal Ward into Cardiological Ward/. In this short period an increase in the morbidity rate was noticed, especially in the group of patients trearted due to insufficient coronary disease.
