Summary
The aim of this work was to analyse the protective influence of the DNA from bee larvae towards rat foetus exposed to toxic actions of carbon tetrachloride.
Foetuses originating from rat females, receiving intraperitoneally carbon tetrachloride, showed massive intraperitoneal hemorrhages, characteristics of venostasis and focal necrosis of liver parenchyma. Hemodynamic disturbances were visibly decreased upon the influence of the DNA extract from bee larvae.
DNA extract from bee larvae shows protective action towards rat foetus exposed to carbon tetrachloride, causing significant weakening of the embryotoxin action. Additionally, the tested extract does not cause any changes in the physiological outcome of the pregnancy.
