Summary
Malignant neoplasms of the large intestine are now an important issue in Polish oncology. Analysis of epidemiological trends indicate that the number of new cases due to the rectum and colon cancer will tend to increase. Because of the occurrence the colorectal cancer in patients with various internal diseases, a close cooperation between surgeon and doctors in other specialties is necessary.
In this article, the authors describe the surgically treated 77-year-old Caucasian race man diagnosed with rectal cancer in the two months before diagnosed myocardial infarction. The authors discuss strategies for dealing with such patients and reviewed the literature on this problem.
