Summary
Continuous aging of the population, especially in the last decade is a challenge that must be tackled contemporary health care. The basic element of modern health care is basic health care, which is provided, inter alia, by the family nurse. It fulfills the functions and tasks to take the family, its members, the community, the environment they live in a situation of health, illness and disability. Includes care of patients of all ages.
Family nurse performs a wide range of nursing services especially towards elder people, who due to their inability to provide self-care or self-nursing cannot function independently in their home environment. Her actions are also directed towards the patient's guardian. It is also worth mentioning, that a patient in home environment is under family care, and the family nurse is coordinating this care, performs an advisory function.
The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the family nurse in patient care geriatric.
