Summary
Primordial germ cells after differentiation from the endoderm and the migration and colonization of mesodermal genital ridges become future germinal cells. Interactions with surrounded somatic cells are essential to their proper development and fate. However during the embryo development some abnormalities was occur in improper migration and population other places them genital ridges e.g. in adrenal glands. In those ectopic sites the cells do not differentiate during fetal period and may survive unchanged for a longer time. Ectopic primordial germ cells may by model cells in investigation of regulatory processes in germ cells. It is clinically determined that they may differentiate in cancer cells, thus giving nice to tumors of endodermal origins in different internal organs.
