Progress in diabetes treatment and in maintenance of good metabolic control that has been made during last decade caused a radical decrease in prevalence of diabetic acute complications and gave a chance to prevent its chronic complications. As a result, diabetic patients, with a bit of effort and strong will may substantially improve their ability to perform various activities including traveling, working and driving vehicles.
The course of diabetes may be different for each patient and depends not only on the type of the diabetes and the method of treatment but also, to a large extend, on patients´ training and motivation for most careful control.
