Summary
Platycodon grandiflorum A.DC. (Campanulaceae) is a plant used in traditional medicine in Asian countries. The authors present – on the basis of own investigations and review of the literature – the present status of pharmacological research carried out on Platycodon grandiflorum. The interesting perspectives of medicinal use of this species in European phytotherapy are also presented.
