Summary
Nowadays the in vitro fertilization and other reproductive problems are under intensive political and social debate in Poland. Unfortunately, the philosophical, ethical and world view arguments are more often quoted than embryological arguments. Because of the lack of common education and knowledge of this issue, the more information about reproductive problems in human and mammals as well as about scientific discoveries in this field should be propagated. Therefore, the admit of Nobel prize the author of in vitro fertilization method as the way in infertility treatment in 2010 was such an important moment. Moreover, the constant progress in medical science and discovery of molecular mechanisms of sperm capacitation, chemotaxis, gamete fusion, metabolic egg activation, first cell division and next zygote cleavage enable the infertility treatment at the stage of fertilization.
