Summary
The increase in adipose tissue mass is caused by two phenomena. On the one hand it is the growth in the number of fat cells, but on the other hand it is the result of recruitment of new adipocytes from a pool of stem cells. Due to the development of research on the pathogenesis of obesity, bioactive substances contained in the daily diet, which could influence the reduction of fat mass growth are being sought. Epigallocatechin gallate contained in green tea exhibits an inhibitory effect on absorption and accumulation of fatty acids as well as according to the concentration it regulates different phases of adipogenesis by modulating the expression of key factors transcription.
