Summary
Gallbladder polyps are usually detected incidentally during abdominal ultrasonography. It is believed that between 5 to 7% of healthy people have in the gallbladder polypoid lesion. Clinical symptoms associated with the presence of polyps in the gallbladder are different. In the case of gallbladder polyps larger than 10 mm it is possible the process of neoplastic transformation. Proceedings of gallbladder polyps still raises many controversies.
In this article the authors present a case of patient who were treated surgically because of gallbladder polyp and also reviewed the recent literature relating to this disease and its treatment.
