Summary
To the presumed and well document biological properties of pollen belong the antibiotic, antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, hypolipidemic (antisclerotic), antiprostatic (prostatic hyperplasia), antihepatotoxic (healing the liver tissue) also antidotal (after intoxication with strong toxins) and stimulating the hematopoietical system (antianemic) activities. In the recent years have been found and studied (mainly in animal tests) others properties of pollen: immunoregulating, immunosuppressive (preventing the body from rejecting an organ transplant), antiallergenic, anticancer, antinociceptive (analgesic), acting on nervous system and urinary tract, antiangiogenic (inhibits the growth of new blood vessels), foetus protecting, ionizing radiation protecting antiaggregation (against clumping of blood platelets) and delaying the ageing of human body.
