Summary
Introduction: The success of the biological treatment in dentistry depends, among other things: on the choice of a proper method, on technique of carried out interventions and on a suitable material. In the latest years more and more commonly MTA is used for this aim. At present mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) unit is used in direct pulp capping or amputated the pulp, in repair the perforation of roots, in filling dentin, cement and bone cavities, in a retrograde root-end filling after apicectomy and filling canals in permanent teeth with incomplete root formation.
Aim of the study: The aim of the study was the review of the writing concerning the MTA application in biological treatment of the pulp of immature permanent teeth.
Conclusions: MTA is characterized by many desired features of material applied in biological treatment of the pulp, and the clinical research confirms its high effectiveness.
