Hawthorn is a traditional medicinal plant known and used by people in medicine for thousands of years. The results of modern research confirms the hypolipidemic, hypocholesterolemic, antiatherosclerotic and antioxidant activity of this plant. Clinical trials prove the lack of validity of using hawthorn in case congestive heart failure (CHF). This herbal plant indicates beneficial therapeutic effects in patients with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF).
