Summary
Dental caries is a infection caused by physiological bacterial flora of oral cavity. This process is initiated by dental plaque. Dental plaque is a bacteria biofilm on the surface of teeth. The developing of caries is caused by Streptococci, mainly Streptococcus mutans and S. sobrinus.
The bacteriostatic and bactericidal activity of propolis on microorganisms dental caries, antiadherent activity, influence of propolis on experimental caries also therapy of dental caries by propolis are discussed.
