Summary
Despite progress in molecular diagnostics, congenital defects syndromes most often cannot be qualified into defined diseases. They are still designated descriptively as disturbances in somatic features. The article presents a case of 11-year-old patient with features of Ellis-van Creveld syndrome, with special regard to mastication organ. The kind of dental treatment was described. The authors underline the importance of regular visits and dental prophylaxis in mentally disabled children.
