Summary
Because cancerous changes in the oral mouth in children are fairly infrequent, early symptoms of the illnes may be overlooked or disregarded. This may cause the delay of making a prognosis and the beginnig of therapy. A very important element of the diagnostic process is a thorough assesment of the state of health of each structure of the oral mouth, taking into account the possibility of early symptoms of a cancerous process or changes in danger to transform to cancer. It is also essential to choose sensitive and, at the same time, safe diagnostic methods. The diagnostic procedure should start with methods as little invasive as possible. Apart from traditional methods, molecular biology methods are implemented more and more frequently. This work shows the rules of diagnostic procedures in patients of young age which enable the diagnosis of such pathological changes in the mucous membrane of the oral mouth that do not submit to noninvasive treatment.
