Roczna ocena kliniczna wypełnień wykonanych z materiału szkłojonomerowego Riva Self Cure

Summary
Aim of the study:The aim of the study was a clinical assessment of Riva self cure glassionomer restorations kl. I acc. Black's classification placed in carious cavities.
Material and methods: The study were undertaken by Dental Faculty students of IV and V courses. One hundred and two fillings were placed and clinically assessed after 1 year of observation according to the modified 4-degrees Ryge's scale. The retention of the restoration, anatomical form, marginal adaptation and surface structure were evaluated.
Results: After one year 82 restorations were assessed. Total retention loss and secondary caries were no observed. For immediate replacement were classified 8.55% of restorations because of surface quality, and 6.1% because of bad marginal adaptation. Most of the observed fillings were clinically accepted. When the study were terminated the required anatomical shape, marginal adaptation and surface quality were observed in 97.6, 89.1, 84.2% of fillings, respectively. Secondary caries was not observed in any cases, in spite of the fact that not acceptable marginal adaptation was observed in 11% of restorations.
Conclusions: Results of the study revealed the positive clinical assessment of glass ionomer Riva Self Cure restorations placed by dental students.
