Summary
Traditionally, the Argan tree is used for many purposes. The nuts of the fruits of Argania spinosa are used to prepare edible oil, which is also advocated as moisturising agent of the skin as well as for the hair, against acne juvenile and the healing of burns. Not only the oil, but also leaf tea, the pericarp fruit, the almond paste and the root of the tree are used for treating different healthy problems. Recent studies suggest that dietary Argan oil from many others activities, could protect against atherosclerosis and cancer and improves plasma lipid profiles and inhibit LDL peroxidation.
