Summary
Oral-pit cancers are much less frequent in children than in adults. But they are marked by a high enlargement fraction, which may be the reason for a cosiderable advance in disease at the time of diagnosis and for a deteriorating prognosis. A very important element of stomathological care for children is to regularly evaluate the state of health of the oral pit, taking into account the possibility of early signs of a cancerous process or of changes endangered by cancerous transformations. This will enable an early prognosis and start of treatment.
The goal of this work is to describe mild and precancerous changes frequent in the oral pit of children as well as bodily states with predispositions to develope cancer.
Based on professional literature, we present epidemiological data concerning the developement of mild changes (angionas, epulises, fibromas) as well as precancerous changes (papillomes, leukoplakia, lichen planusbsd) in children, their location in the oral pit and the clynical image. We have described predispositions to develope cancer in patients under lengthy immunosuppressive treatment.
