Summary
Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are restless, behave in an impulsive way, their actions are automatic, there are divergences in their behaviour – between what the children know and what they do. They do not well at school and the problems in functioning as a pupil are the most frequent reasons for beginning a diagnostic process. The presented description and analysis of a case includes recognizing and solving the problems in education and upbringing of the children. The paper includes a description of ADHD symptoms occurred in an 8-year-old boy, origin and dynamics of the phenomenon, the importance of the problem has been also presented, negative prognosis (in case of giving actions up) and positive (in case of starting actions). It also includes a list of recommended solutions, methods of dealing with children in school and their family life. The paper also includes a plan of actions for teachers dealing with children suffering from ADHD.
