Summary
In recent years, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) along with concentration disturbances has become a subject of widespread concern. The problem is more and more frequently discussed, there is also a higher awareness of risks associated with complications of untreated ADHD. A therapeutic work with hyperexcitable children can be tiring and stressful both for parents and teachers. How to help the children improve their functioning in the school and family environment, how to enable them to make friends and maintain the friendships as well as to do well at schcol and to extend their social experience?
Seeing the need for a thorough analysis of the problem, the author presents the possibilities of supporting the child's development in the prepared model of psychopedagogic therapy (PT) in such a way to enable the children to achieve success. The paper includes objectives and assumptions of the program, therapy participants and the persons involved in work with children. The paper also presents the methods of therapy, principles of procedures, forms of meetings and methods applied in treating the children. The presented proposals are certainly not thorough, though they can help children with ADHD to release their potential.
