Summary
Hormone replacement therapy (HTR) has been widely use during the last few decades. HRT presents a lot of actions. In this article the influence of estrogen on central nervous system, bone mass, cardiovascular system and urogenital system has been presented. Basic information about the risk of HRT use has also been discussed. Very important is also knowledge about the selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERM), phytoestrogens and homeopathic preparations.
