Summary
Juvenile chronic arthritis (JCA) is a severe autoimmune disease of the connective tissue, in which periarticular and/or generalized osteoporosis belongs to significant clinical symptoms. Development of osteoporosis in JCA is influenced not only by the disease itself, but also by steroid therapy and restricted mobility of the patients. The paper presents pathogenesis of osteoporosis in JCA, principles of its diagnostics, prevention and treatment.
