Summary
A review divided into two parts, with 96 references, presents the results of research on the pharmacological activity of biflavonoids. In the last years, these compounds were extensively investigated and such directions of their pharmacological action as anti-inflammatory, hepato-protective, antimicrobial, anticancer, antiallergic and other were revealed. In the part I of the review anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, antiallergic, and antidiabetic activity of flavonoid dimers is being discussed.
