Summary
The second part of the review article describing various legislation governing distribution of herbal preparations on international market as medicines or food supplements, is dealing with relevant government regulations adopted by the industry in Australia. Unlike the EU countries, where work is still underway to establish practical guidelines to unified regulations on herbal products, a number of significant reforms have been already introduced to, and practically implemented in the regulation of herbal medicines in Australia. Details of this novel system, which may be of relevance to projected set of harmonized definitions and regulations in the European Union countries are presented in this paper.
