Badania nad zastosowaniem wyciągu z tarczycy bajkalskiej w leczeniu chorób przyzębia

Summary
The aim o f the studies was to investigate the effectiueness o f baicaline a purified extract of Scutellaria baicaliensis G in the treatment of paradontopathies. The examinations comprised 110 patients with super ficial and deep paradontopathies, a control group with paradotopathies treated traditionally and a group of patients with healthy paradontium. The history o f the patient was taken, objectiue examination carried out and the degree of paradontium destruction eualuated with the use of Russel´s index in all these subjects. Protein concentration in salwa with Lowry at all method, concentration of thiobarbituric acid reacting substances with Bugel and Aust´s method and also composition and amount o f bacteria were examinned. 0,5% baicalin gel was applied locally for 4 weeks. In 72% of patients with superficial and deep paradontopathies after baicalin gel application disappearance ofpain, bleedings and improuement of local state were found. In 6% oniy slight improvement was gained due to hygienic neglects. Significant decrease of protein concentration in salwa, thiobarbituric acid reacting substance and also compositional change and amount decrease of bacteria and fungi were obserued simultaneousiy.
