Summary
The herbal crude drugs and phytopharmaceuticals are play in Poland, Germany and France a important part in medical practice. Some of them belongs to the plant remedies, which use is based on traditional knowledge and the use of another herbal remedies is scientifically evidenced.
Both the producers of phytopharmaceuticals and the researchers occupied on medicinal plants are accorded that in phytotherapy the practice and theory are like the two sides of coin. These sides are in interaction and dependence. The development of the new and improvment of the existing preparats would be not possible without intensive studies on old plants and their compounds.
Besides medicinal plants and phytopharmaceuticals very important is the functional food. Adding the medical active compounds from the plants to the food we obtain the new group of medicinal remedies – nutraceuticals, which have larger and larger importance in the health care.
