Guz mieszany ślinianki przyusznej lewej u 11-letniej dziewczynki

Streszczenie
Introduction.Tumors of the parotid gland are extremely rare in children and about half of them are benign. The treatment of choice in those tumors is surgery.
Case report. 11 years old girl was admitted to ENT Department with the tumor of parotid gland. In the ultrasonography the tumor of 26x23x 22 mm was observed. In the needle aspiration biopsy morphological elements suggesting adenoma pleomorphum were found. MRI imaging reveled polycyclic mass 24x23 mm within superficial lobe of parotid gland. The superficial lobe including the tumor was surgically removed with preservation of the facial nerve. Pathological postoperative examination – adenoma pleomorphum.
Conclusions. Similar to adults, in children tumors of the parotid gland requires precise diagnosis including tumor size, it´s location and pathological form. The treatment of choice is surgery with facial nerve preservation.
