Streszczenie
This paper presents issues of obesity in the young population, because the prevalence of obesity in contemporary societies has been growing progressively. Obesity is not unitary disease and its causes are multifactorial, including polygenic, metabolic, psychosocial and environmental factors. The authors discussed carefully the prevalence of obesity, etiology of the disease and nutrition manners, as well as risk of obesity. The major causes of primary obesity include dietary errors (e.g. high – fat, high – energy and high – carbohydrates) and low physical activity. Obesity may be cause the worse or better social and economical adaptation. Overweigh and obesity in childhood and adolescence is unquestionable risk factor for pathogenic obesity in adulthood and associate with high mortality. Obesity is responsible development of type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension, cholecystolithiasis, insulin resistance and other health disorders. Central obesity is associated with increased plasma free acids, triglyceride and their impact on atherogenesis. We presented novel criterion of metabolic syndrome according to International Diabetes Federation IDF in 2005. Apart from obesity and overweight is associated with dissatisfaction of the body, development of behavioral disorders and chronic stress. The distribution of fatty tissue has been larger influence for presence complications of obesity than her quantity. The prevalence of this disorder is quite an epidemic, with social, economic and medical consequences The aim of this review is to discuss the pathological conditions associated with obesity in childhood on future life of adult man.
