Streszczenie
The aim of the study was a to present the most important informations concerning the immunological phenomena in autoimune hepatitis (AIH). The following issues were considered: the general principles of pathogenetic classification of autoimmune diseases, the basic rules dealing with action of the cells of immune system (non-specific and specific immune response), the immunological characteristics of normal liver, the characterization of autoantibodies found in AIH, and the most important possible mechanisms which can cause immunological damage of liver in AIH.
