Algorytm postępowania diagnostyczno-terapeutycznego w autoimmunologicznym zapaleniu wątroby u dzieci

Streszczenie
The aim of the study was to describe diagnostic and therapeutic approach towards children with autoimmune hepatitis. Two groups of patients were analysed: group 1 (N=76, M-23 and F-53) received initial steroids treatment and group 2 (N-45, M-15 and F-30) received initial combined steroids + azathioprine treatment. We retrospectively analysed clinical status, laboratory evaluation and histopathology in both groups. Remission was obtained in 27 (35.5%) of group 1 patients and in additional 3 patients after azathioprine was added. In group 2 remission was observed in 19 (42%) of patients. Both therapeutic approaches had similar efficacy, but combined steroids + azathioprine treatment allows to reduce side effects.
