Streszczenie
Coeliac disease is a persistent gluten intolerance occurring in genetic predisposed persons, in whom gluten intake leads to abnormal activation of gut immunological system. Abundant studies on immunopathogenesis of coeliac disease confirm the role of autoimmunological processes during the course of this disorder. Cooperation of HLA antigens class II, tissue transglutaminase and gliadin peptides induces autoreactive T lymhocytes. The activation of gliadin specific helper lymphocytes resulting in Th1 or Th2 cytokine production leads to villous atrophy in effector phase. It seems that autoantobodies against tissue transglutaminase could stop an activation of transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta), the cytokine, which play the role in oral tolerance by immunosuppression of T cell response.
