Streszczenie
Diabetes mellitus type 1 often coexists together with autoimmune diseases, characterised by cell-mediated or humoral immune response to organ specific or systemic self antigens. The clustering of autoimmune disorders is observed in the same diabetic patient – the different phenotypes represent a spectrum of immune dysregulation – which is necessary to understand and remember to obtain the best metabolic control in children suffering from type 1 diabetes.
