Streszczenie
The majority of Helicobacter pylori – infected adults have autoantibodies reacting with gastric antigens. The main target of autoimmune reactions in the stomach is the parietal cell and its secretory product intrinsic factor. Therefore, 85 dyspeptic patients (53 children and 31 adults) with positive serology for H. pylori were screened for the presence of anti-parietal cell antibodies in serum by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) uses purified H+/K+ATP-ase antigen. The grade of gastritis was estimated by histology. Positive autoreaction was found in 7 out of 85 subjects. Only 3 out of 7 patients were children (mean age, 11 years). Histologically all 7 subjects showed chronic corpus gastritis and antral gastritis, 1 out 7 showed metaplasia. Our findings demonstrates that an autoreaction of gastric mucosa may be found in H. pylori gastritis of childhood.
