Streszczenie
The author discusses the leading achivements in the diagnosis and treatment in pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology. The progress in genetics, immunology, laboratory and imaging diagnostics, histology and surgery contributed to the recognition of new diseases unknown till now. It created the possibility for identification of new ethiological factors (Helicobacter pylori among others), for introduction of new methods of therapy including liver transplantation and oesophagus reconstruction and for substantial progress in nutritional treatment of children.
